That's us!
Niels: I grew up in a small town along the Waal River in the Netherlands. Having always been very fond of the outdoors, I did not have to think twice about coming to the Pacific Northwest when the opportunity to work there presented itself in 2001 and so I came to work as an interaction designer in Seattle.

I have been fortunate to see and experience many places in the world in my life so far but it has only fueled my wanderlust. Adventure and finding the photograph that captures the true character of a destination are always top priority for me. When traveling and exploring new places I feel most alive and I enjoy just letting things happen; not going overboard on planning out every day.
After finally mustering up enough courage to leave the comfortable and familiar life behind, I am very excited to have the chance to pursue true adventure. Amy and I will gladly leave the rat race behind for a while and I cannot think of a better place to do that than in the South Pacific, with camera in hand!
Amy: In 2001, I got my first passport and I have been collecting stamps in it ever since. Once I caught a glimpse of the bigger world around me, I was hooked on finding out more about far off places. Seattle is where I have called home for the past 8 years and since 2005 I have been working there as an interior designer.
Having grown up in small towns in Washington State, I developed a keen liking for open space. Although I love some aspects of city life, I feel most content when I have vast views and can take time to observe all that is around me.
When Im not researching travel or traveling (two of the things I like to do most), I am usually reading or attempting to perfect a recipe, or more often than not, acting as Niels' photo-assistant. Occasionally I can be found sketching, and I plan to do much more of this while were in the South Pacific.
